Why do some messages count as more than 160 characters?

Messages sent using Edovo messenger are made up of segments. The standard amount of characters allowed for one segment is 160. However, segments are counted and measured by Sponsor carrier, not Edovo. If you have questions regarding how message segments are tracked, please reach out to your carrier.

That being said, here are a few things to be aware of:
  1. Sending an SMS message over 160 characters will be counted in multiple segments
  2. Emoji's will more often than not count for more than one character
Edovo cannot determine messenger character counts; this is managed by your phone carrier.
